Nvidia is buying $5 billion of Intel stock to jointly develop custom data-center and PC chips—x86 SoCs that integrate Nvidia RTX GPU chiplets and use NVLink for tight CPU–GPU coupling. The deal follows recent stakes from the US government (~10%, $8.9B) and SoftBank ($2B). Intel shares jumped 28% in premarket trading.
